To coincide with the announcement of the 2017/18 European fixtures, Cardiff Blues have revealed their 17/18 Euro jersey from Canterbury, which they will wear in this year’s Challenge Cup.
For the last two seasons, the Blues’ European jersey has been used to support former Blues and Wales centre Owen Williams, who suffered a life-changing neck injury playing for the region in 2014.
So once again this season, the Blues’ traditional colours have been merged with the yellow of Williams’ home town club, Aberdare RFC, as a gesture of support for their former teammate. Once again, these are arranged in hoops, though the hoops are significantly thinner than previous seasons.
The centre of the chest also features the logo of the #StayStrongForOws campaign, which raises funds to support Williams’ rehabilitation via the Welsh Rugby Charitable Trust.
