Dubbed the “The Fastest Man in Rugby” for his blazing speed that has many an opponent in the dust on the international Rugby Sevens scene, Team USA’s Carlin Isles has become the latest American player to sign with a major European club.

Isles recently inked a deal with RaboDirect Pro12 and Heineken Cup team Glasgow Warriors and will pulling on the Warriors jersey for the remainder of the 2013/14 campaign.

Glasgow_homeAwayThe new home and away jerseys were unveiled in the fall of 2013 and were inspired by the Glasgow-born architect and designer Charles Rennie Mackintosh.  They are provided by Italian firm Macron.

“I love the new Macron kit,” Glasgow Warriors captain Alastair Kellock said at the launch. “The design is vibrant and it’s really comfortable to wear.”

Glasgow_away“I like the attention to detail and having the Glasgow District Rugby Union logo on the back of the shirts is an excellent addition, as this represents all the club teams within our district,” Glasgow Warriors Duncan Weir added.

Macron is working to increase their rugby sponsorships.  They are well-known for some of their soccer sponsorships including Napoli, West Ham and Aston Villa.  They are making a push into rugby with as the apparel sponsor of the Scotland national team, Edinburgh Rugby of the Pro12 and now Glasgow.

“We understand the importance of identity and for this reason we have worked closely with Glasgow Warriors to create not only a unique design but a brand new bespoke model of shirt,” Gianluca Pavanello, Macron CEO said.  “Our designers have worked tirelessly to encapsulate the spirit of Glasgow and we hope the final design will be a proud symbol of the city and most importantly the clubs’ loyal supporters.
