The term ‘cap’ denoting a player representing their country dates back to the early years of the game when players were presented caps every time they played for their national team. There were not nearly as many games so a presentation cap was given to each player.
Carter was also honored by long-time cleat provider adidas with a custom gold pair of his Predator Incurza. The gold rugby cleat has is matched with red 3-stripes and studs and included DC100 and the New Zealand All blacks and adidas logo on the heel.
The New Zealand fly-half has been an adidas boy since he started his career. He has been wearing the Predator Incurza in the Blue/White colorway.
“I started my international career back in 2003 wearing Adidas Predators,” Carter said in a statement. “To this day I have continued to wear the Adidas Predator boots. It’s easy for me to say, I think they’re amazing boots.”
