The USA Eagles grabbed a dramatic 25-23 win over Georgia on Saturday to end a year-long winless run.  Flyhalf Adam Siddal converted a penalty from a difficult angle and 40-meters out to get the win.

Despite going down 10-0 early to the home side, the Eagles fought back and for the second match in a row held the 15-13 advantage at the halftime break.  Prop Nick Wallace helped the USA increase the lead to 22-13 in the second half with a 40-meter run.  The score was set up with a well-played dummy pass to Andrew Suniula which exposed the home side’s try line.

The Eagles attack stalled from that time until Siddal hit the game winner.

The last win for the Eagles was on November 24, 2012 against Romaina.  The side had done 7 matches without a win.  The round out their November test run with a game against Russia at Allianz Park on Saturday.
