Ahead of the new Guinness Pro12 season, 2017 finalists Munster have revealed a their 17/18 away shirt, once again produced by long-time kit partner, adidas Rugby.
The new shirt incorporates several design features previously seen on the New Zealand All Blacks jersey, including the distinctive low-profile ergonomic collar, which is designed to give the player maximum comfort around their collarbone area. This collar style hasn’t previously been seen on a non-international jersey.
The dark grey main colour of the shirt is inspired by the history of the province of Munster, with the colour reflecting the battle armour worn by the ancient kings of Munster.
The pattern on the front of the jersey it designed to represent a tapestry, and if you look closely, you’ll notice that the tapestry forms the vague shape of a stag’s antlers – a reference to the famous Munster Rugby crest.
Munster will wear their new away kit for the first time when the Pro12 2017/18 season kicks off at the start of September.
