The New South Wales Waratahs have become the first Australian franchise to reveal their jerseys for the 2017 Super Rugby season.
The jerseys, which are once again produced by long-time supplier Canterbury of New Zealand, are a subtle evolution of last year’s design, with a similar combination of a classic Waratah blue body with dark blue sleeves and 360º Loop neckline.
The main difference between the new jerseys and the 2016 design is the graphic used on the body. Whereas last year’s home shirt had a stylised waratah flower motif on the bottom, this one has an interesting grid pattern on the top and bottom of the shirt, with a Waratahs badge on the rear of the jersey.
The away jersey is something of a departure – incorporating the red of the Waratahs crest into the sleeves and yoke, with the home jersey’s body pattern replicated with a primarily white colour palette.
The Waratahs will wear their new jerseys throughout the 2017 Super Rugby season, beginning with their opening match against the Western Force on 23 February.
