adidas is making a strong push in the U.S. to make the perfect rugby cleat available for every player in every position and have recently released the latest updates to their 4 rugby silos. The adidas adiPower Kakari, adidas FF80, adidas Predator Incurza, and adidas adiZero RS7 now give every player the edge they need to excel!
The adidas Predator Incurza is the best known of the line and largely because it is designed with an eye for kickers and other backs specifically the #9, 10, 12, 15. The benefit of the cleat is kicking accuracy and control and to help achieve that the shoe has 2 kicking zones with precision sweet spot. The cleat is designed for better stability with a TPU weld on the forefoot and heel raise to give optimal sprinting position.
Dan Carter is the face of the brand but it has a long-list of top players pulling the cleat on week-in-and-week-out. The list includes Carter, Jonathan Sexton, Leigh Halfpenny, Patrick Lambie, Jonny Wilkinson, Lionel Beauxis, Felipe Contepomi, Will Genia, Matt Giteau, Doug Howlett, Ben Youngs, Stephen Donald, Mils Muliaina, James Hook, Mike Philips, Mannings, Ruan Pienarr, Mike Harris, George Pisi, Mike Blair, Lee Byrne, Kurt Morath, Matt Berquist.
60% of the players are scheduled to wear the blue base colorway while 40% will be fitted in the black base.
Speed kills and that is what the adidas adiZero RS7 is designed to provide the backs (#9, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15) that wear it. The cleat utilizes the adidas sprint skin on the upper with a rubberized print on the kicking sweetspots along with a new speed traction stud configuration on the sprintframe to provide great traction for acceleration.
The players lacing up the cleat are: Israel Dagg, Ma’a Nonu, George North, Manu Tuilagi, Peter Horne, Delon Armitage, Steffon Armitage, Seilala Mapusua, Ryan Shortland, Phil MacKenzie, J MacKenzie, George Smith, DTH Van der Merve, Sailosi Takicakibau, Joe Rokocoko, Bryan Habana, Keith Earls, Morgan Parra.
The adiZero RS7 is miCoach ready and only available in the Blue/White colorway.
The back-row and tight 5 have not been left out of adidas rugby cleat line-up with the Ff80 pro and adiPower Kakari, respectively.
The adidas Ff80 pro is focused on drive and explosive acceleration. This helps the players in the back-row to break the line when in attack and the first to the tackle on the other side of the ball. The key to the cleat is toe cleat that provides great traction in the 5×2 outsole configuration.
A TPU band helps improve lateral stability. The adidas Kakari is miCoach ready.
The players wearing the cleat are Sam Warburton, Richie McCaw, Courtney Lawes, Sean O‘Brien.
The line-up is rounded out with the adidas Kakari. The king for the Kakari is traction and stability to provide scrum dominance. The cleat uses an 8 cleat outsole but still is lightweight. And the 5mm heel raise helps give the optimal foot position for scrimmaging.
Martin Castrogiovanni, Richie Gray, Dan Cole, Cian Healy, Ben Franks, John Smit, Carl Hayman, Neil Jenkins, Andrew Sheridan, Sakaria Taulafo, Brad Thorn, Nathan Hines, Luke Charteris.
