Sonny Bill Williams is accustomed to making headlines. The New Zealander is known from jumping back-and-forth between rugby union and rugby league and has spent some time in the boxing ring as well. The all-around athlete signed on with adidas earlier this month.
The Sydney Roosters player joins an elite group of athletes, David Beckham, Lionel Messi, Andy Murray, and Derrick Rose, for the 3-stripes.
“I’m proud to finally formalize my relationship with a brand that’s known for being a world leader in football and Rugby Union, and supports so many great athletes in Australia, New Zealand, and around the world,” Williams said. “There’s a lot I still want to achieve in my career, and it’s great to know I have adidas in my corner.”
With the number of titles and honors Sonny Bill has won it is impressive that he is still focused. Williams won the Rugby World Cup with the All Blacks in 2011, a Super Rugby title with the Crusaders, 2 NRL Premiership titles, in addition to his individual honor of being named the 2013 International Rugby League Player of the Year. He was a professional boxer from 2009-2013.
