The USA Eagles open their IRB Pacific Nations Cup campaign against Japan on Saturday, June 14, at StubHub Center and aired on Universal Sports.

The match gives the Eagles a chance to continue to prepare for next year’s Rugby World Cup against a traditional tough opponent.  The Cherry Blossoms have won the previous 4 meetings and are eager to continue that run of dominance.  The Asian side will be confident after defeating Samoa 33-14 in their first match of the 2014 summer Test series.

Mike Tolkin’s side dropped their Summer Test match opener 6-24 to Scotland and the coach has made 5 changes to his starting XV.  Samu Manoa will return to the line-up along with Danny Barrett, earning his first cap as a starter, Nick Wallace, Tim Maupin, and Folau Niua.

Todd Clever will captain the Eagles from openside flanker.
