The USA Women’s Eagles kicked off the latest adidas era as USA Rugby’s technical sponsorship donning the 3-Stripes jersey in their 37-10 loss to Canada in the Can-Am Trophy at the Chula Vista Elite Athlete Training Center earlier this month. The jersey was just a taste of what is to come from adidas as it was a temporary jersey the team is wearing until the pro line kit is finalized.
And if the jersey (and the jersey styles of other adidas teams) is any indication of what is to come, the Eagles will be wearing more traditional jerseys over the coming years.
The jersey worn by the women were a stock teamwear option in the adidas rugby line with the USA Rugby branding. The men’s team will wear a similar stock option for the Hong Kong 7’s and Singapore 7’s stops on the HSBC World Sevens Series.
The blue jersey seen above will be paired with a white jersey with black detailing for all the Eagles matches.
Both teams will then transition into home and away jerseys from the adidas Mi Team Custom program starting with the Paris stop for the men and the Kitakyushu, Japan tour stop for the women.
These Mi Team jerseys will be worn until the fall including the men’s Eagles match against Ireland on June 10.
The pro line jersey is scheduled to debut with the women’s Eagles when they start their Women’s Rugby World Cup campaign in Ireland.
Fans will be able to purchase the USA Eagles jerseys from the Mi Team adidas line starting in May. The pro line jerseys will be available to fans in early fall.
